What we hold, and what we do not.

This is written to be read rather than survived. The short version is that we collect a name and an email address when you give them, we keep what you buy so we can deliver it, we do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell anything about you to anyone, and you can have all of it deleted by asking in one sentence.

1. Who is responsible

These sites are operated by Quietly Free Ministry, of 8850 NW 13th Terrace, Unit 105, Doral, Florida 33172, United States. In data protection language, that is the controller: the person who decides what is collected and why. Throughout this policy, we and us mean that operator, and you means the person visiting or writing.

Written questions about anything here go to [email protected], and they are answered by a person.

2. What we collect

When you give it to us

Your first name and email address, when you take an assessment, subscribe, or ask to be sent something.
One routing answer on some pages, such as whether you were answering about your own life or about someone you love. It exists so the letter that follows is the right one.
Anything you write to us, including replies to letters. If you tell us something in an email, we have it, because that is what an email is.

When you buy something

What you bought, when, and for how much, along with the name and email on the order, so the thing can be delivered and the record can be kept.
Card details are never seen by us. Payment is handled by our payment processor, and card numbers go to them and not to us.
Tax and country information where a sale requires it.

Automatically, in the ordinary running of a website

Server and security logs kept by our hosting and security providers, which include IP addresses, browser type, and the pages requested. These exist to keep the sites up and to stop attacks.
Whether a letter was opened or a link in it was clicked. Email software records this. It tells us whether a letter was worth sending. If you would rather it did not, most email programs can block remote images, and unsubscribing ends it entirely.

3. What we deliberately do not collect

This section is unusual for a privacy policy, and it is here because on these particular subjects it matters more than anything else on the page.

Assessment and test answers are not stored. On the Door Test at quietlyfolded.com, what you mark stays in your own browser, produces your result on screen, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not know what you answered. The same principle governs any worksheet field inside a course page: what you type there is yours.
No advertising or analytics trackers. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no heat maps, no cross-site tracking.
No fonts loaded from third parties. Typefaces are served from our own storage, so displaying a page does not hand your IP address to a font provider.
No selling, renting, or trading of your details. Not to advertisers, not to other authors, not to anyone, for any price.
No profiling that decides anything about you, and no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Why we hold it, and on what basis

To send you the letters you asked for. Basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any letter or by writing to us.
To deliver what you bought and to support you afterwards. Basis: performance of our contract with you.
To keep the sites working and secure, and to keep our email deliverable. Basis: our legitimate interests in running a functioning service, weighed against your privacy and limited to what that requires.
To keep the financial records the law requires. Basis: legal obligation.

5. A note on beliefs and difficult subjects

Some of this work concerns faith, spiritual communities, and coercive control. Information about a person's religious beliefs or their experience of harm is treated as sensitive under most privacy laws, and we have designed these sites so that we hold as little of it as possible.

That is why test answers stay in your browser, why no page asks you to name a group or a person, and why nothing you mark is ever quoted back to you in an email. If you choose to tell us something personal in a reply, we hold it only to answer you, we do not add it to any list or category, and we delete it on request.

6. Who else handles it

We use a small number of established providers to run the sites and send the letters. They act on our instructions and are bound by contracts that limit what they may do with your information.

HighLevel, for the websites, the course area, the customer records, and the sending of email.
Mailgun, which delivers our email.
Cloudflare, for security and delivery of the pages.
Stripe, for payments.
An email verification service, used to check that addresses on our list can still receive mail, so we do not send to abandoned mailboxes.

Books bought through Amazon are sold by Amazon, not by us. Amazon is a separate controller with its own privacy policy, and we do not receive your email address from an Amazon purchase.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights or safety of a person.

7. Where it is held

Quietly Free Ministry is organized in the United States and our providers are in the United States, so information is stored there. The ministry is operated day to day from Costa Rica, which means your information may also be accessed from there.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this means your information is transferred outside those areas. Those transfers are made under the safeguards those laws provide, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in our agreements with providers.

8. How long we keep it

Subscriber records: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, and then removed, apart from a minimal suppression record that exists only to make sure you are not accidentally added again.
Purchase and tax records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is normally several years.
Emails you send us: for as long as needed to deal with the matter, then deleted.
Server and security logs: for the short retention periods our providers apply.

9. Cookies

These sites do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing here that needs your consent under the cookie rules. What is set is limited to:

Security. Our security provider sets a short-lived cookie to distinguish people from automated traffic.
Function. The platform may store a language preference, and a session cookie when you are logged into a course.

Blocking cookies in your browser will not stop you reading anything here, though it may interfere with logging into a course.

10. Your rights, and how to use them

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights: to be told what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time without that affecting what was done before you withdrew it.

If you are in California or another United States state with similar law, you also have the right to know, to delete, and to correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of.

To use any of these rights, write one sentence to [email protected] saying what you want. There is no form and no explaining yourself. We will answer within a month, and we will not ask you to justify the request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, but that right is yours regardless.

11. Children

These sites are written for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

12. Security

Access to our records is protected by strong authentication, our providers encrypt data in transit and at rest, and the number of people with access is one. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

13. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it, and anything significant is said plainly in a letter rather than buried here.
